Episode 9

Tapeman eagerly awaited Mrs. Martin's Hombase on Monday morning. The students were happy to see we had a new student and made him feel right at home. Tapeman must have been tired from such a busy week last week, because he spent his first day sitting in the back of the class, with not much to say. Unfortunately, he lost his first privilege letter for wearing a hat inside after many warnings! On Tuesday, he started fresh and was glad to get out and take the long walk inside the building for lunch! For the rest of the day he was excited to read fairy tales and enjoyed them greatly!

Episode 8

Tapeman arrived and yelled, "my students!" He just sneaked through the door from MAC 315! That is short for mobile academic cottage! He got here on Wednesday during bus time!

He arrived wearing several shirts and WINGS! Must have been how he arrived so quickly and quietly!

The class decided since the Swine Flu is so contagious, and Tapeman forgot to bring his form in on time to get the shot, that they needed to add some precautions to help him stay well through the flu season. We gave him a bottle of Germ-X, a surgical mask, and a latex glove. Gee, we sure hope he isn’t allergic to latex. Now he will be safe since he isn’t getting his H1N1 shot!

Good luck, Tapeman! Stay well because we love you!

Episode 7

The students in Mrs. Terrell’s class were so bright that Tapeman decided he needed sunglasses and decided he wanted to go to UVA. Before he left though, he dressed up with his bow tie and new hair style for picture day. The wings helped him to get to his next location.

Episode 6

October 19, 2009

I had an awesome time in Mrs. Haney’s class. The kids were really excited to see me!

On Thursday we went to the library. Mrs. Young told us about call numbers, and we went searching for books with different numbers. When we finished, I went straight to the computer to take AR tests. I took AR tests on The Wednesday Wars and Miss Spitfire. Both books were outstanding, and I passed the tests! I only have to read one more book before I can go to Putt-Putt for the Virginia Readers’ Choice Field Trip. After my AR tests, I had a chance to read in the LGI, and Mrs. Haney took pictures of us. I told her to make sure she got my good side. I love the library!

I ate lunch in the cafeteria with my friends. Everyone wanted me to sit with them! I had delicious chicken nuggets and a yummy cookie. I can’t wait to try the pizza!

On Friday we worked with our Lit. Circle groups. My group is reading I Am David, and it’s a great book! I was the illustrator, so I shared my illustration with the group. We took turns sharing – it was so much fun!

During Fun Friday I walked the track with some cute girls! Someone bumped me and almost broke my arm. Mrs. Haney and some of my friends fixed me up in "Mrs. Haney’s Emergency Room." Some strong packing tape did the trick. I still had fun, although my arm hurt a little bit.

The weather is cold now, so Mrs. Haney’s students gave me a winter hat this morning. Thank you! I’m ready for the next Fun Friday!
I had a great time in Mrs. Haney’s class, and I will be sad to move on. I met some amazing people, and I won’t forget my new friends!

Love, Tapeman

Episode 5

Ms. Cobbins' Class

When Tapeman came to visit our science class, he was there bright and early to greet the children as they came through the door with a happy "Hello!" and a bright smile.

Tapeman helped with solar system projects. He examined specimens through the microscope. He learned a lot about cell reproduction and received an A on his quiz!

Alas, Tapeman had to be on his way to continue his tour of FMS. The students were so sad to say goodby to a really great guy!

Episode 4

"I surprised Mrs. Kricheldorf's class on Tuesday. I was waiting there as soon as the students came in. I was really interested in the fractions and decimal projects the students presented. My tape is beginning to swell from all the fraction learning in my head - I just have to remember to have a common denominator to add and subtract fractions. I'm beginning to get cold and damp from the weather out here in Motown, I'll have to remember to wear my jacket....time to move on to Mrs. Haney's room through the "secret door"...."

Episode 3

Tapeman’s visit to 312

I arrived in the mobile after school on Friday. I enjoyed watching the Hokies win this weekend! I am going to try my hardest in school so I can go to Virginia Tech when I’m older. Only the smartest Tapemen get into Tech!!

Monday morning I was greeted with happy squeals, “We got taped!!”. WOW, Ms. Reed sure is lucky! She has some awesome students! In homebase, everyone got their Tuesday folders. This confused me a little because today is Monday. Ms. Reed said it is because interims are going home today. In Social Studies, we learned about Big Business and Industrialization. Boy, those Captains of Industry sure were smart! I am really enjoying 6ht grade and being in Motown. I can’t wait to see where I will end up next…

Go Hokies!
